There are hundreds of children in Ireland
fighting terrible illness and
disability They spend many weeks, months, years of their young lives, in and out of hospitals undergoing serious operations and painful treatments just trying to hang onto life,   depriving them of even the simplest of pleasures that most of us take for granted.

When a child is diagnosed with a life threatening illness it is heartbreaking.  It is such a very lonely and terrifying experience  for the child and the parents. One thing is for sure - life for that child and the family will never be the same again.

No matter how ill or disabled these children are they are still children - longing to enjoy happy times if only they are given the opportunity.  All too often they feel neglected and forgotten about in their own communities.

At Share a Dream we are creating smiles for these children. We are doing everything in our power to make life more enjoyable and making dreams come true for the many thousands of these special children all over Ireland - North & South.

Share a Dream organise parties, concerts, outings, holidays, special events. One child may wish to meet their favourite character, another wants to be a fireman for the day.  Share a Dream makes individual dreams come true for sick children no matter what their illness or disability, Share a Dream wants to help.

"We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give".
Shay Kinsella - Founder

In the 17years that the charity has been in existence it has made dreams come true for over 17,000 children. At present 127 children's charities from around Ireland benefit from the wonderful work and fun activities organised by the Share a Dream Foundation.

All that is required to make this work is for caring people to reach out to these children whose greatest need is to feel needed.
